Netball at the ASB

We were fortunate to be at the ASB for Eastern Zone Netball this week which meant there was no cancellation!! Here are some of us in action....

Learning Self Defence

Tui has been fortunate enough to spend the day with Phil from GSW Club.

His warm up was a series of stretches and then we played the cool game of knee tag.

Next we learnt how to have a strong posture.

We learnt that a strong base helps us from being pushed or pulled.

We then learnt techniques to help us escape.

After break it was time to learn the technical "get up."

Defend myself by "using my voice." This means I need to also use a frame as I attempt to fend off the attacker and yell stop.

We have our framework so now we need to learn how to cope when we are taken by surprise.

After lunch we learnt what to do when we are attacked from behind

Pedal Ready aka Pedal Power

What a beaut day we have been blessed with to learn how to:-

- look after our bikes properly

- check our helmets for damage and how to wear them correctly

-ride correctly and confidently, obeying road rules 

In other words be Pedal Ready!
